Roy R. Conliffe

Roy R. Conliffe commenced his career with Chrysler Canada as an Industrial Engineer. After 6 years, Roy joined Loblaw Companies Ltd as Director of Labour Relations and Human Resources.

He retired from Loblaw Companies Ltd and Weston Foods after 35 years, as the Executive Vice-President, Labour Relations. He was an integral part of the companies evolution in becoming a North American leader in the food/drug retailing and baking industry.

During his tenure, Roy supported the execution of major acquisitions and major divestitures resulting in the leadership role in which they operate today.

            The companies currently have over 1000 collective bargaining agreements, covering many of the 190,000 employees in which Roy and his team were accountable.

Roy has always been able to establish and develop positive relationships with the diverse groups He engaged. In addition, Roy is known as a mentor and enjoyed the development of the various teams.    

            In 2013, Roy was appointed for 2 terms by the Ontario Government to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Ontario Labour Relation Board. He also served as co-chair of the Joint Labour Management Food Retail Committee based in Washington, D.C.
